Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) is for network design engineers, technicians, and support engineers, who enable efficient network environments with an understanding of network design for the Cisco converged network. This course covers areas such as discussing methodology in network design, designing a network address plan and selecting suitable routing protocol for a given network design and designing the remote connectivity modules as needed. This globally recognised certification validates skills in designing routed and switched network infrastructures and services.

CCENT (ICND1) is now required for all delegates wishing to achieve CCDA Certification. CCNP Switching Knowledge is also recommended but is not required.
The CCDA consist of a single exam, the 200-310 DESGN. This exam provides you with all of the information you will need to interview a customer (who might be your boss!), identify networking solutions that meet the needs discovered in the interview, and then design a network infrastructure that meets those needs!
